Tasting Notes: 

On the nose, this wine has aromas of white flowers, green apple and lemon zest. A crisp and palate-cleansing wine with balanced acidity and good structure. This fresh and persistent Pinot Grigio finishes clean and bright. 

Pinot Project Wines: 

The Pinot Project began in 2009 with a vision: “a wine for the palate, the pocket, and the people.” Michael Skurnik, a well known wine importer,  brought this idea to life with his first production of a California Pinot Noir. The Pinot Project has since expanded into all things Pinot. 

Pinot Grigio: 

Pinot Grigio or Pinot Gris as it is called in France is a light, bright, sometimes slightly bland but very easy drinking white wine. The name Grigio, or Gris, actually means gray because unlike most white grape varieties the skins of this grape are actually a coppery pink color, so not white and not red but somewhere in between, so gray.

Italian Pinot Grigio is usually totally dry with brilliant acidity with a bitter almond note. 

Veneto: 

The Veneto is located in north eastern Italy and is the 8th largest wine producing region in the country. It is also one of the three regions that make up the area known as the Tre-Venezie aka the Three Venices because of their historical relationship to the Republic of Venice.

The Veneto is slightly smaller than Italy’s other main wine-producing regions – Piedmont, Tuscany, Lombardy, Puglia and Sicily – yet it generates more wine than any of them.

Food & Wine Pairing: 

The crisp acidity and citrus notes of Pinot Grigio pair best with seafood-based dishes. Grilled white-fish, mussels, clams and prawns. Pinot Grigio is commonly served to accompany the popular Italian staples of pasta and risotto with a cream or fresh tomato based sauce. Though it can also pair well with fresh summer salads and light chicken dishes.
