Episode 46: Interview with Winemaker Jessica Gasca from Story of Soil Winery
In this episode, we have an interview with Jessica Gasca from Story of Soil Winery in Santa Barbara County.
Jessica walks us through her beginnings in the wine industry from family ties to a wine education through restaurants.
She also tells us about her experience on the production side, working for other small producers here in Santa Barbara and finally what drove her to start her own project, Story of Soil. We discuss the different varieties that she produces, how she decides on the types of wines that she likes to feature, and how Story of Soil came about because of her desire to learn more about wine.
Jessica is also the president of the Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and one of the things she is most passionate about right now for that organization is their Vineyard Worker Project.
