2018 Hope Estate Basalt Block Shiraz
Shiraz is the number one grape grown in Australia. In fact it is grown in every wine region in Australia, all 65. This wine is from the Hunter Valley, the oldest wine region in Australia. It's the warmest wine region in Australia but you wouldn't know that from this wine.
This is a beautiful rich Syrah full of notes of dark fruits but it's also incredibly well balanced and almost elegant on the palate. Expect tasting notes of pepper and spice, with some blueberry undertones and cedar. This wine is smooth and juicy on the palate with intense berry fruits, spicy plums and noted earthy savory note on the finish. The finish is smooth with a combination of crisp acidity, some vanilla from the oak and silky tannins.
Pair this Australian Shiraz with anything from burgers and barbecue to rich red pasta.
